FEE.227-Composting Textiles and Waste from Textile Based Products-AC24.USCC

In this presentation, Unless Collective, a startup apparel brand dedicated to eliminating plastic pollution, shares findings from large-scale trials conducted with their composting partner, Agromin from Oxnard, CA. The trials aimed to prove that textile waste, including post-consumer and post-industrial materials, can be efficiently composted to create healthy soil products. Through these trials, they demonstrated that textile waste can indeed be composted safely and effectively, without negatively impacting the quality of the finished compost. This presentation discusses the trial process, key conclusions, and outlines the next steps needed to scale opportunities for composting textile waste as part of a circular economy approach.
